“We fell in love with this breed right away. We saw one walking down the street, and my daughter was like, ‘that’s the dog!’

A child could come up and uncurl Oki’s tail and play with him in the most obnoxious way, and he won’t be angry. But if another little dog messes with him, then he bares his teeth. He’d never nip another dog… but he clearly thinks he’s a human and not a dog.

I’m so attached, it’s nuts. Oki’s eight now, and he’ll live till about 11. When he dies, someone’s going to have to take me out back and shoot me. I can’t even think about it – they should live longer than we do!”
